I don’t know why you are experiencing the darkness that you feel. I can tell you that God is sovereign. And that he tells us that when we feel burdened beyond our despair, which we do experience in the Christian life, to turn to him, the one that raises the dead, the one who gives us hope. So, turn to him, brother. Get the encouragement and the help that you need whether that’s professional encouragement and help through a therapist and also the help of the body of Christ. Pursue that.

1. In Mark 9, after Jesus freed a boy from a demon that his disciples couldn’t command, he tells them that it would only come out through prayer and fasting. Can Christians really get rid of demons through prayer and fasting?
2. If God is sovereign over all things, how can we not also say he is sovereign over the circumstances that push someone to suicide?
3. If God is love, why do so many of his prophets warn about his fierce judgment and fiery wrath? Did they not speak for him?
