In John 16, Jesus is very honest with the disciples: he doesn’t that, “Hey, you’re lives are going to be easy once I go.” Rather, he says in verse 33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
