From the Show

Should we be skeptical of messages of prosperity?

The issue that I've seen, is that it's the guarantee that the prosperity gospel people say that it's God's will for everyone to be wealthy, God's will for everyone to be healthy, etc. I have no issue with prosperity and or health, it’s that we promise it as a result of being a Christian, and there's going to be poor Christians, middle-class Christians, and “prosperous” Christians, it's just not a guarantee for every believer. — Michael Cerullo

I'm just thinking of 1st and 2nd Timothy, the letters that Paul writes where he says, ‘suffer with me as a good soldier, suffer with me according to the will of God,’ over and over. The end of 1st Thessalonians, 5:16 through 5:18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing giving thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for us in Christ Jesus.” You want to know God's will? It's clear in the Word of God…and there is this idea that God's will is always wealth and health and happiness, but that just isn't the reality, biblically speaking. — Costi Hinn
