The Core Truth:
God does speak to us today. He speaks to us in his word as he declares the sober reality of our sinful and lost condition. But more importantly, he tells us the good news about Jesus. We need to not only read about this good news in the pages of Scripture, but we also need to have it preached to us week-in and week-out by faithful shepherds who point us away from ourselves, so that we might focus on Jesus.
