Just because someone meets a tragic end through addiction doesn’t mean they can’t have been saved. Think of Samson in the book of Judges. In one sense, he was completely foolish throughout his life, he did things he knew would cause him harm. And yet, in the New Testament, the author of Hebrews places hjm in the hall of faith.
